First Communion Class makes Easter Bread at 'St. Mary's Bakery'.
The intent of this project was to" connect the dots" for our Frist Communion children between the bread that we eat with our meals to norish and sustain life, and the bread that we eat at our Eucharistic meals to nourish abd sustain our spiritual lives.
The idea of making our own Easter Bread came from the film "Grandma's Bread" that was shown to the children as part of their preparation for May 14th when they will receive for the first time. I decided to take it a step further and create a one day St. Mary's Bakery shop with a staff of student chefs. Hat design, courtesy of Liz Flanagan.
